Poughkeepsie... Dutchess County Executive William R. Steinhaus and DC Veterans Service Agency Director Nelson Eddy Rivera are pleased to announce a Veterans Information Day which will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Dutchess Community College. The event will take place from Noon until 4 PM in the Drumlin Hall Cafeteria.
There will be a medals presentation ceremony beginning promptly at noon, with medals being presented to Veterans from all different eras.
According to County Executive Steinhaus, “We are setting up this event as one way to show our appreciation and gratitude for the sacrifices made by our Dutchess County Veteran’s Community.”
The information day will be for all those who have honorably served their country and their families from the Dutchess County area. There will be over twenty-four representatives from various Federal, State and local agencies there to provide information about services their organizations have for veterans, i.e. health benefits for Veterans and their families, VA home loan programs, County services and much more.
Director Nelson Eddy Rivera stated, “The Dutchess County Veterans Service Agency plans to make Veterans Information Day an annual event. Our County has a wealth of services that could assist our Veterans and their families.”
