Poughkeepsie… Dutchess County Executive William R. Steinhaus has lent his support to the Town of Red Hook in their efforts to receive a New York State Department of Parks, Recreation and Historical Preservation (NYSOPRHP) grant to preserve and restore the community landmark, St. Margaret’s Home.
In a letter to Commissioner of the State Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Carol Ash, the County Executive said, “I support the Town’s efforts to obtain funding for this community landmark. The St. Margaret’s Home structure is truly valued by local residents and its location at the southern gateway to the Town of Red Hook makes it highly visible. The Town hopes to restore it beauty and make improvements to transform it into a viable local resource.”
The Executive noted, “We take great pride in our historic heritage throughout Dutchess County. I am pleased to support Red Hook residents’ efforts to preserve the architectural significance of St. Margaret’s Home and restore it for future generations to appreciate.”
