Poughkeepsie… Dutchess County Executive William R. Steinhaus has announced work is now complete on County Route 18 (Centre Road) in the Town of Clinton and the road has been reopened to traffic today. The Dutchess County Department of Public Works replaced a culvert that carries the road over Willow Brook Creek. The culvert had been found to be deficient, requiring replacement. A load limit that was placed on the culvert will now be removed.
County Executive Steinhaus said, “The safety of our roads and bridges continues to be our top priority. We appreciate motorists’ patience as this important was completed.”
County Route 18, which had been closed by detour, was reopened on schedule this week. The total project was completed within the $323,000 budget and was funded through county dollars. Approximately 1,000 vehicles utilize Centre Road on a daily basis.
