Dutchess County Employees Evacuated following Bomb Threat to I-TAP Program
Call Deemed as “Non Credible” by City of Poughkeepsie Police

 

Poughkeepsie… Dutchess County Department of the Mental Hygiene employees located at 82 Washington Street in the City of Poughkeepsie were evacuated from the building for approximately one hour this morning as a result of a bomb threat call received at 10:25am.   The call was made to the County’s Intensive Treatment Alternative Program (I-TAP) which is located in the 82 Washington Street building.

Employees gathered in the lower parking following the County’s established evacuation procedures. The City of Poughkeepsie Police responded to the scene, with City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department on standby.

After a thorough search of the building and evaluation of the circumstances surrounding the call, City of Poughkeepsie Police and Dutchess County Public Works staff determined the building was safe for the employees to return. Employees were permitted to return into the building at approximately 11:30am.
