Dutchess County Executive William R. Steinhaus today initiated a directive to DeWitt Sagendorph, Dutchess County Emergency Response Coordinator, for full exploration of implementation of the consolidation of 911 cell phone calls presently received and dispatched by the New York State Police into the Dutchess County E911 Center.
The County Executive noted he has discussed with Major Tom Fazio, Commander of the New York State Police Troop K and Emergency Response Coordinator Sagendorph the idea of advancing this important public safety issue.
Steinhaus noted, “We are fortunate to enjoy the exemplary professionalism and service delivery from Troop K that so capably serves the residents of Dutchess County and our traveling visitors. The State Police has capably handled the vital role of receiving and dispatching 911 emergency cell calls since before the construction and operation of a central county E911 dispatching center.”
