Blood Drive in City of Beacon on Friday, July 25th

The Dutchess County Department of Health and the City of Beacon are sponsoring a blood drive with the American Red Cross at the Beacon Recreation Center located at 23 W. Center Street in the City of Beacon on Friday, July 25th from 2pm to 7pm.

“According to the Red Cross, donations typically drop during the summer months, so donating at this time becomes even more critical,” said Commissioner of Health Kari Reiber, MD.  “The need for blood is constant and patients are still relying on lifesaving blood products.”

Community blood drives offer individuals hope and saves lives.  Encouraging friends and family to schedule an appointment helps community build life-saving blood reserves.

“Donating is easy and it’s a chance to do good for your community,” said City of Beacon Mayor Randy Casale.  “You never know when you are going to be on the other side, the one who is in need of help from others.”

Walk-ins are welcome and appointments are also available by phone or online. For more information, contact the Red Cross at 1-800-RED CROSS or to register online, visit RedCrossBlood.org.
