Family Health


 

 

Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health offers the following programs for families:

 

Maternal and Child Home Visits

Public Health Nurses provide home visits to assess women during the prenatal and postpartum period. Nurses also provide information and education about breastfeeding, newborn care and nutrition needs, growth and development, and injury and poison prevention. Case Management is provided through referrals to promote optimum health.
 

Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention

Services include individual case management and follow-up to children with elevated blood lead levels. Community education, provider outreach, and environmental investigations are also provided.
