Coordinator's Message

Summer is upon us and with it comes the summer storm season.  Be Aware of the changing weather conditions, and Be Prepared.  Our Emergency Manager is constantly monitoring the weather conditions and keeps the local first responders aware of potential storms allowing them to Be Prepared.  Please check the information on preparedness found on the Emergency Management Plan.

Construction is well under way on the County's new Emergency Operations Center and Learning Lab.  Construction is on schedule for a December 2008 move in date.

Our County Fire Instructors have numerous training classes lined up for the summer.  As well, the State Fire Instructors will be providing state training classes during the daytime in July and August.

Please help the emergency first responders to find you in an event of an emergency.  Make sure your address is posted clearly and large enough to see from both directions of travel.  When an ambulance is needed at your residence is not the time to have the responders trying to find your house.  Post your house or business' address number now!  If you need to verify your address number, contact the 9-1-1 Addressing Office at 845-486-2080.

Have an enjoyable and safe summer.
