Telephone Access


Inmates in the Dutchess County Jail have access to collect call only telephones while in the day room from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Social calls to inmates are not accepted and messages are not relayed to inmates. People who have received unwanted collect calls from inmates and wish to place a block on their telephone may contact AT&T at 1 (800) 234-8730.


All incoming mail is subject to inspection for contraband. Inmates are responsible for their own writing and postage items. These items may be purchased through the commissary. Inmates without sufficient funds will be provided with a limited amount of paper and postage items. Cash sent via mail, although not recommended,  will be accepted and deposited into an inmate’s account without a service fee. Checks or money orders sent via mail will be returned to the sender per facilities inmate rules and regulations.

Bail is accepted seven days a week, 24 hours a day, including holidays.

Bail will be accepted in the form of cash, bank check, money order, or credit card (Discover, Visa, MasterCard, American Express) only.
