Rolison, Roman, & Wilkinson Host School Resource Officer Summit
Round Table Discussion with Public Safety Committee, Law Enforcement, School Safety Experts

Dutchess County Legislature Chairman Rob Rolison along with Legislators Ken Roman and Peter Wilkinson, who lead its Public Safety Committee, hosted a School Resource Officer Summit. Attendees of the round table discussion included representatives from law enforcement agencies throughout the county, the District Attorney's office and members of the Dutchess County School Safety Advisory Committee (DCSSAC). Attendees addressed safety issues in schools, shared best practices and how best to ensure the safety of students, faculty and staff countywide.
Rolison, a 26 year veteran in law enforcement stated, “School programs, training seminars and collaboration between law enforcement and school districts are vital elements in enhancing school safety in Dutchess County.  This is a collaborative effort and one that we are all engaged in and one that we all play an important role in.  Ensuring the safety of our children is of utmost concern."

Robert F. Bloom, Co-Chair of the Dutchess County School Safety Advisory Committee stated, “Our children are our most valuable asset. It is very gratifying that Dutchess County is a leader in the coordination and cooperation between law enforcement agencies, fire departments, emergency medical services, and emergency management. Communication and cooperation between school districts and these first responders is essential during an emergency. We need to continue to maintain this liaison between school district personnel and the emergency responders who will be working with them in the event of an emergency.”
