Transit Management of Dutchess County is looking to fill the following positions:

Fixed Route/Paratransit Bus Drivers: Potential operators must have a willingness to provide public transportation services to the Dutchess County Community in a safe, courteous and professional manner.  Potential employees must have a willingness to assist the Dutchess County Community with an emphasis on customer service and safety using our “Think Differently” approach.
 

  • Must be available to work flexible shifts between: 4:15am to 1:00am Monday – Sunday.
  • Must have a Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement and an air brake endorsement.
  • Vehicle & Safety Training is provided.
  • Criminal and Motor Vehicle background checks will be administered.
  • DOT Pre-Employment Physical and Drug Screen required.
  • High school graduate or GED is required.
     

Call Center RepresentativeQualified candidates must exhibit excellent customer service skills while performing the following:
 

  • Answering telephone inquiries on a multi-line phone system.
     
  • Scheduling rides on Flex, Paratransit, Dial-A-Ride, and other transit services.
     
  • Checking and responding to telephone messages.
     
  • Recording complaints in a database or other form of electronic or paper source.
     
  • Selling bus passes.
     
  • Counting fares.
     
  • Checking transit-related forms for completeness and accuracy.
     
  • Criminal background check will be administered.
     
  • DOT Pre-Employment Drug Screen required.
     
  • High school graduate or GED is required.
     

Operations Supervisor:  Potential candidates would ideally have a familiarity with Dutchess County and be able to carry out the following without supervision:

  • Develop/maintain electronic databases and to track and monitor transit-related data
     
  • Oversee the Operations Department in the absence of the Operations Manager
     
  • Oversee the work of the Operations/Data Clerks
     
  • Check pre and post trip forms for accuracy & completeness
     
  • Carry out progressive discipline in the absence of the Operations Manager & Assistant General Manager, Operations/Maintenance
     
  • Maintain transit-related files
     
  • Develop and submit reports
     
  • Participate in road supervision/Hub ambassador program
     
  • Must have a Class B Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement and an air brake endorsement.
  • Criminal and Motor Vehicle background checks will be administered.
  • DOT Pre-Employment Physical and Drug Screen required.
  • High school graduate or GED is required.
