Mass. man arrested with over 100 lbs of marihuana

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Michael D. Graubard, age 46 of Stockbridge Ma, for felony-level marihuana possession at approximately 3:00 pm on 3/25/14.

At the above date & time, Deputies stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation on Route 22 in the Town of Amenia, at which time Mr. Graubard was identified as the operator & sole occupant. After further interview and investigation at the scene, a large amount of marihuana was discovered in the trunk of the vehicle. Mr. Graubard was then taken into custody and transported for processing. Further inspection of the marihuana revealed it to be in 5 separate packages, with a combined weight of approx. 114 pounds. Cash in the amount of approximately $8,600 was also found and confiscated by Deputies.

Mr. Graubard has been charged with criminal possession of marihuana in the 1st degree (Class C Felony) and operating a vehicle without a front license plate (traffic infraction). After being processed, he was arraigned before the Town of Amenia Court and was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond, and is to reappear on 4/21/14 at 3:00 pm.

As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
