Man Arrested for Felony DWI and AUO

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the felony arrest of Christopher Wolert (30 yoa) of LaGrange on Saturday April 26, 2014. At approximately 11:31pm a deputy sheriff on patrol observed Christopher Wolert operating a 2008 Hyundai eastbound on Noxon Rd at the intersection with State Route 82 in the Town of LaGrange. Wolert was observed passing a red light at the intersection and subsequently observed exceeding the posted speed limit and failing to safely stay in his lane of travel. He was stopped and further investigation revealed that he was intoxicated.

Christopher Wolert was charged with DWI a D-felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st an E-felony, as well as passing a red light, speed in zone and moving from lane unsafely all traffic infractions. The DWI was a D-felony since he had two prior DWI convictions within the past ten years, those being on September 27, 2004 and September 10, 2007. The AUO charge was a felony since his license was revoked for a DWI related offense and he was intoxicated while operating the vehicle. He had two current revocations for DWI convictions and one current suspension; they were on September 27, 2004, October 10, 2007 & April 3, 2010 respectively. He was arraigned in the Town of LaGrange Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on no bail and is to appear back in LaGrange Court on May 1, 2014 at 4:00pm.
