Deputies make felony larceny arrest in Wappinger

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Marlondo L. Longmore, age 28 of the Bronx, for felony-level larceny and criminal mischief stemming from an incident in the Town of Wappinger at approximately 12:30 am on 6/6/14.

At the above date and time, Sheriff’s Deputies and State Troopers responded to Five Star Automotive, located at 1318 Route 9 in the Town of Wappinger, for a report of a larceny in progress. Upon arrival, Mr. Longmore was located at the scene and was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Longmore had allegedly been in the process of stealing catalytic converters from the parking lot when he was found by police.

At this time, Mr. Longmore has been charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, both of which are Class D Felonies. After being processed, Mr. Longmore was arraigned at the Town of Wappinger Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police, and more information may be released as it becomes available.
