The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of William J. Dubois, age 27 of LaGrange, for felony-level drug possession stemming from an incident at the LaGrange Motel in LaGrange on 6/9/14.

On 6/9/14 at approximately 9:30 pm Sheriff’s Deputies went to the LaGrange Motel, located at 192 McDonnell Rd in LaGrange, to attempt to locate Mr. Dubois on a warrant. Mr. Dubois was wanted by the Sheriff’s Office on an arrest warrant for Burglary 3rd Degree out of the City of Poughkeepsie Court. Information was received that he was staying at the motel, and when Deputies approached him to arrest him he attempted to flee out the back window. After a short struggle, Mr. Dubois was apprehended and taken into custody, at which time it was discovered that there was a large quantity (28 bags) of suspected heroin on his person.

At this time, Mr. Dubois has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, which is a Class B Felony. Mr. Dubois was arraigned at the Town of LaGrange Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond, with orders to reappear on 6/17/14 at 4 pm. The warrant was lodged with the jail and will be addressed by the City of Poughkeepsie Court before Mr. Dubois is released.

As with any criminal case, the charges described here are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
