The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Jason Molinaro, age 29 of the City of Poughkeepsie, for a residential burglary-in-progress in the Town of Poughkeepsie on 6/16/14.

On 6/16/14, Mr. Molinaro had been under surveillance by Sheriff’s Office Detectives because he is a suspect in numerous burglaries throughout Dutchess County. While under surveillance, Mr. Molinaro was observed by Detectives committing a burglary at 14 Caroline Drive in Poughkeepsie, at which time he was taken into custody inside in the residence.

In total, Mr. Molinaro has been charged with 2 burglaries – the one on Caroline Dr and 1 other in Orange County – and is suspected in 9 others in Dutchess County. Much of the stolen property from these burglaries, which consists mainly of jewelry and money, has been recovered through the investigation.

At this time, Mr. Molinaro has been charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree, which is a Class C Felony. After being processed, Mr. Molinaro was arraigned at the Town of Pleasant Valley Court, and as a result was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.

As with any criminal case, the charges described here are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. More information may be released as it becomes available.
