Clinton Corners Man Arrested After Driving ATV to Bar While Intoxicated

While on patrol on Tuesday July 8, 2014 at approximately 10:41pm, Deputy Sheriff Evan Traudt observed an ATV being operated southbound on North Ave in the Town of Pleasant Valley. He was able to follow and stop it after it had turned onto Quaker Hill Rd and stopped behind the Roadhouse Tavern, which was the operator’s destination. The vehicle was a 2000 Polaris Sportsman ATV operated by Christopher M McGlauflin (28 yoa) of Clinton Corners, NY.

Investigation revealed McGlauflin was intoxicated and he was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both E-felonies, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st also an E-felony, as well as Operating a Motor Vehicle without an Ignition Interlock Device a misdemeanor and Operating ATV on Highway, Unregistered ATV & Operating ATV w/o a Helmet all traffic infractions.

The DWI charges were felonies since McGlauflin had a prior DWI conviction within the past ten years, which was on April 4, 2013 in the Town of Clinton. The AUO charge was a felony since his license was revoked on April 4, 2013 for the DWI conviction and he was intoxicated while operating the ATV. He was released to appear in Pleasant Valley Town Court on July 29, 2014 at 5:00pm.
