Beekman man charged with weapons possession after dispute

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Nue Lleshaj, age 33 of Beekman, for weapons possession and menacing in connection with a dispute in Beekman at approximately 4:30 am on 11/23/14.

On the above date and time, Deputies responded to 23 Pine Street in Beekman for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival it was learned that the Mr. Lleshaj, who lives there, had been involved in a dispute with another male and a female. At some point during the dispute, Mr. Lleshaj is accused of firing 2 rounds at the other male from a blank-firing replica handgun that he had in his house. At the conclusion of the interviews and investigation at the scene, Mr. Lleshaj was taken into custody and transported for processing. No one was injured during the incident and the replica handgun was recovered at the scene.

At this time, Mr. Lleshaj has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree (Class D Felony) and menacing in the 2nd degree (Class A. Misd). After being processed, Mr. Lleshaj was arraigned before the Town of Beekman Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond, and is to reappear before the same court on 12/11/14 at 6 pm.

As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
