Dutchess County DBCH Vaccination Appointments

Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health (DBCH) is currently using a randomized, computer-generated process to assign vaccination appointments to eligible residents at County-operated sites. To be notified about appointments at these sites, please complete the Dutchess County Vaccination Information Request Form (Learn more about the form). When an appointment is available to you, you will be contacted directly by phone or email by Dutchess County personnel.
 

Fixed Points of Dispensing (PODs)

DBCH is operating two Fixed Points of Dispensing (PODs) Vaccination Centers – at the former JCPenney store at the Poughkeepsie Galleria and at the former CVS, 3081 Route 22, Dover. These sites are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

• Check for appointment availability at our JCPenney Fixed POD site on Tuesday, April 20th
• Check for appointment availability at our JCPenney Fixed POD site on Thursday, April 22nd
• Check for appointment availability at our JCPenney Fixed POD site on Saturday, April 24th

Community Pop-ups

DBCH also hosts Pop-up Vaccination Sites in various locations across the County to better reach all residents. Pop-up sites are also BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. See the Current Status below for information on locations.

Partner Pop-ups

DBCH continues to partner with area primary care providers and other local organizations to vaccinate eligible individuals as well as homebound and medically frail seniors. These are also BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. See the current status below for location information.

Need Help Completing the Vaccination Information Request Form?

For Dutchess County residents without internet access or who are age 60 or older:

• Call the Dutchess County Coronavirus Information Line at (845) 486-3555.
  • Select Option 1 to hear the weekly vaccine allocation updates;
  • THEN select Option 2 to be connected to a Call Center representative for help being added to the notification list.
  • You will be called when an appointment is available to you.

For those needing language assistance:

• Thanks to a collaboration through the Dutchess County Vaccine Outreach Coalition, you can now call or visit any library in Dutchess County for assistance with completing the County’s Vaccination Information Request Form.
  • Spanish language assistance is also available at the Adriance Library in Poughkeepsie.

Second Dose Appointments

Scheduling for second dose appointments will occur at the vaccination site as both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines require two doses for full effectiveness.

The following is information about vaccination options throughout the county in accordance with New York State Department of Health guidance. The 'current status' for each type of site is updated weekly.

New York State Sponsored Sites

New York State vaccination sites are open to all eligible individuals. 

The closest state sponsored sites to Dutchess County are the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz, SUNY Orange in Middletown, Westchester County Center in White Plains, and SUNY Albany.

  • PRO-TIP: Even if it says "No Appointments Available," click on your preferred site, there may be recently cancelled appointments available!

Pharmacies

Pharmacies can now vaccinate all eligible individuals. Residents can check with their local pharmacy or the pharmacy’s website for information.

PLEASE NOTE: The following list includes vaccine allocation sent to various locations by New York State. There are numerous other locations receiving vaccine doses from the Federal government (CVS, Stop & Shop, Tops Pharmacy, etc.). For a list of pharmacies receiving Federal vaccine allocation, visit the CDC's pharmacy program website.

Hospitals, Federally Qualified Health Centers, Urgent Care, or Amulatory Care Providers

These facilities are vaccinating any eligible recipient as per NYS guidance.

Physicians Networks and Practice Groups

Doctors’ offices have begun receiving limited vaccine from New York State. These offices will notify patients for appointments as supply is available.

Poughkeepsie Medical Group (PMG)
PMG is offering Moderna vaccine appointments, while supplies last, to eligible individuals from noon-1pm Monday-Friday at their offices located at 375 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie. Call 845-454-5000 for appointment availability and scheduling. There is no cost for the vaccine, but you are encouraged to bring photo ID to your appointment.

Veterans Affairs Hospitals and Clinics

The Office of Veterans Affairs (VA) is offering vaccination appointments to VA health care personnel as well as all veterans eligible to receive care from the VA, regardless of age or other criteria.

Volunteers needed: The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) at Castle Point VA Hospital is looking for volunteer drivers to help bring Dutchess County veterans to and from doctor appointments at the Castle Point VA Hospital in the Town of Wappinger. Volunteers will pick up veterans from their homes, wait for the veteran to complete their doctor visit, and then return them to their home. Scheduling is flexible, but one or two days per week availability is preferred. Government vehicles are provided. Volunteers must:

• Be in good health and able to pass a simple physical
• Have a valid and clean New York State driver’s license (no CDL required)
• Have proof of valid and current Insurance

I signed up at www.DutchessNY.gov/VaccineInfoForm, now what happens?

• You have been added to the County’s notification list.
• You will be advised when we have an appointment at a County POD site that we can offer to you.
• Appointments will be allocated based on the number of doses available to the County for the specific date. A computer-generated, randomized process will be used to select names of those who meet current State eligibility criteria. For example, if the County receives 600 doses, 600 eligible individuals on the list will be notified about appointments.
• Appointment offers are NOT transferable. If you completed the form on behalf of someone else, it must be their name and eligibility information.    
  • For example, if John Smith is submitting the form for his mother Mary Smith – it must be Mary’s information on the form (name, date of birth, etc).
  • If John would also like to be on the list as an eligible individual, he must complete a separate form for himself.
• Please be aware that it will likely be many weeks or months before you are notified about an appointment, based on the current supply distribution. The County has been receiving 600-700 doses per week, while there are well over 100,000 eligible residents.
• Additionally, you will receive weekly updates about other vaccine providers, including pharmacies, in Dutchess County who have received vaccine doses from the State that week. We understand you may wish to continue looking for other available appointments as it will likely take a while before you are notified about an available appointment at one of the County sites.

PLEASE NOTE: You only need to complete this form ONCE. Your information will be saved week-to-week. If you make a mistake or need to update your information, please resubmit the form; only the most recent submission will be used.

I don’t have internet access to complete the form, what do I do?

Eligible Seniors, or those who do not have internet access should:

• Call the Dutchess County Coronavirus Information Line at (845) 486-3555.
  • Select Option 1 to hear the weekly vaccine allocation updates;
  • THEN select Option 2 to be connected to the Office for the Aging and added to the notification list.
• You will be notified by phone when an appointment is available to you.
• You can also call each week to hear the updates about other vaccine provider options.
