Dutchess County Winter Storm Update

All of Dutchess County remains under a Winter Storm Warning until 1pm today. The National Weather Service forecasts another 1-4" of snow accumulation with freezing rain mixing in this morning, The storm is expected to pass by 10 a.m. with winds picking up to 30-35 mph.

Dutchess County Emergency Response experienced very high call volume into the 911 Communications Center throughout the early evening and overnight with reports of accidents and stranded vehicles blocking roadways. Call volume has returned to normal levels this morning.

Dutchess County Public Works highway crews have been deployed throughout the storm and are currently out in full force this morning.    The majority of roadways are reported as passable, though messy. Salt applied last night and again this morning is helping with the hard pack snow and ice, particularly as temperatures rise.

Dutchess County Office for the Aging Senior Friendship Centers are closed today and there will be no home delivered meals.    

Dutchess County Government offices will be open today for normal operating hours.
