The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of James Morgan, age 28, in connection with an investigation at the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center. Mr. Morgan was incarcerated at the time of the incident and arrest, and remains there at the time of this writing.
Mr. Morgan is accused of violating an order of protection by contacting a protected party via video messenger. He was arrested on 3/31/25 and has been charged with aggravated family offense (felony) and criminal contempt 2nd degree (misd). Mr. Morgan is scheduled to appear before the City of Poughkeepsie Court for arraignment on 4/9/25.
As with any criminal case the charges described above are merely accusations, and Mr. Morgan is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
