Public Invited to Discuss, Share Feedback on Proposed 2019 County Executive Budget
Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro invites residents to participate in the ongoing conversation about the proposed 2019 county budget. A series of Town Hall Forums will be held at various locations around the County for residents to learn about key components of the budget, ask questions, and share feedback. The town hall forum originally scheduled for November 14th has been rescheduled to accommodate the budget review meeting conducted by the Dutchess County Legislature.
The 2019 Executive Budget documents are available online at dutchessny.gov. Residents are encouraged to review the budget documents, particularly the Budget in Brief, and bring comments and feedback to one of the upcoming Town Hall Forums:
The budget review process is currently underway by the Dutchess County Legislature. The complete review schedule is available online at dutchessny.gov, culminating with the adoption of the Budget by the full Legislature slated for Thursday, December 6th at 7pm.
The proposed 2019 budget plan reduces the county property tax levy for the fifth consecutive year and cuts the property tax rate for homeowners and businesses for the fourth year. The budget maintains county services and programs, with initiatives added to address addiction and mental health, youth services as well as continued funding for ThinkDIFFERENTLY events and programs, senior services, infrastructure improvements, and shared services.
