Poughkeepsie... Dutchess County Executive William R. Steinhaus will deliver his annual State of the County address on Thursday, January 25th at 4:30pm at the Millbrook High School in the Village of Millbrook. The address is titled Dutchess Goes Greener: Maintaining and Renewing Our Commons and will focus primarily on environmental issues.
“I will share with county residents how we can all think and care more for our environment, our local ecology as well as saving energy,” said the County Executive. “My 2007 State of the County address will be a call to arms for each of us to join Dutchess County’s Green Team.”
The County Executive will outline a multi-step strategy to sustain a “GREEN” county including forest fragmentation limits, green LEEDership partners and public and business involvement. He will also announce the creation of a County Committee on Best Environmental Practices.
“Dutchess County is a caring community. Together, we are all partners in achieving our vision for a greener future in Dutchess County,” concluded the County Executive.
