COUNTY AND PBA REACH AGREEMENT ON CONTRACT EXTENSION

Poughkeepsie. . . Dutchess County Executive William R. Steinhaus, Dutchess County Sheriff Adrian “Butch” Anderson, and Police Benevolent Association (PBA) President Kenneth Powers reached agreement to extend the current labor agreement covering Dutchess County Deputy Sheriffs.  The original four-year pact, which was to run through December 31, 2003, has been extended one additional year to December 31, 2004 with a 3% salary increase.  The PBA members voted by a margin of 3-1 to extend the current agreement for an additional year in exchange for participation in the New York State early retirement program.

It is expected that this agreement will be sent to the Dutchess County Legislature for approval at its December meeting.
