Food Service
A permit is required for businesses that engage in preparing and serving food to members of the public for the following operations – Institutional Foods, State Office of the Aging Feeding Sites (SOFAs), Restaurants, Mobile Food Units, Vending Machines, Caterers & Commissaries.
Public Water Supply
A Public Water System (PWS) is regulated by the Dutchess County Department of Health and requires a permit to operate. A PWS means a community, noncommunity or non-transient noncommunity water system, which provides water to the public for human consumption through pipes or other constructed conveyances to at least 5 service connections or serves an average of at least 25 people for at least 60 days per year.
Temporary Food Service
This type of permit is required to prepare and serve food at a temporary special event and, includes preparing and serving food from vending booths, stands, kiosks, vehicles, or carts at temporary events. Application and fee must be submitted at least 7 days prior to operating.
