    • Steinhaus Appoints William Sanchez As Youth Bureau Director

    • Poughkeepsie. . . Dutchess County Executive William R. Steinhaus announced today his appointment of William Sanchez as Executive Director of the Dutchess County Youth Bureau. Mr. Sanchez, 43, and his wife Erin reside in Rhinebeck. He is the father of one adult daughter and the grandfather of three.

      “Mr. Sanchez has a strong and extensive background working with youth. His experience is both professional and volunteer. Especially impressive is his passion and enthusiasm for helping youth,” said County Executive Steinhaus.

      “I want to thank County Executive Bill Steinhaus for entrusting me with the opportunity to work on behalf of the young people of Dutchess County,” said Mr. Sanchez.

      He continued, “I plan to continue to develop and sustain collaborative relationships throughout the county.”

      Mr. Sanchez has served as Village Justice in Rhinebeck Justice Court and as Rhinebeck Town Justice since 2000. Earlier, he worked at Astor Home for Children and as a police officer.

      Steinhaus concluded, “Judge Sanchez will be a great advocate for youth and a strong leader for this department.”

      Mr. Sanchez will begin as Acting Director on March 27. His confirmation will be considered by the County Legislature at its April meeting.
