    • County Facility Flags Set at Half-Staff to Honor Dutchess County Resident

    • Poughkeepsie…County Executive William R. Steinhaus has directed that all Dutchess County Government facility flags shall be set at half-staff to honor First Lt. Trevor Yurista of the United States Marine Corps, who was killed in action while serving in Afghanistan.    Yurista, 31, was a resident of the Town of Pleasant Valley.

“On behalf of the residents of Dutchess County, I extend our prayers and condolences to the family of First Lt. Yurista,” stated County Executive Steinhaus.   “We will be forever grateful for his service to our country.”

Flags will remain at half-staff until his funeral service has concluded.   Funeral plans have not yet been finalized.
