    • Dutchess County Emergency Operations Center Activated

    • Update as of 11:10am:

      The Dutchess County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was activated early this morning.    Currently, there are officials from the following departments and agencies coordinating emergency response from the ECC:

      • New York State Police
      • New York State Department of Transportation (DOT)
      • Dutchess County Sheriff
      • Dutchess County Executive Office
      • Dutchess County Fire Coordinators
      • Dutchess County EMS Coordinators
      • American Red Cross of Dutchess County
      • Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response
      • Dutchess County Department of Public Works
      • Dutchess County Division of Aging Services
      • Dutchess County Department of Health
      • Dutchess County Department of Mental Hygiene
      • Dutchess County Department of Planning (including Mass Transit)
      • Dutchess County Medical Reserve Corp
      • Central Hudson

      Update from NYS DOT:

      • NYS DOT has cleared a portion of the Dutchess Mall parking lot to hold vehicles notably tractor trailers to get them off Interstate 84.
      • Interstate 84 is now open eastbound.
      • IBM East Fishkill parking lot off Lime Kiln Road is also being cleared to accommodate vehicles.
      • Work is in progress to clear westbound (NYS DOT, NYS State Police and DC Sheriff) anticipating another few hours.

      Current update from the Dutchess County Sheriff:

      • Virtually everything from Spackenkill SOUTH is out.
      • Sheriff ATVs have been dispatched to get people stranded on Interstate 84, particularly those trapped in rest areas.

      American Red Cross:

      • Working to open shelters in Beacon.    Will be closing the Millbrook shelter to focus on Southern Dutchess.

      Town Warming Centers have been opened:

      • East Fishkill Fire Headquarters located at 2502 Route 52.
      • Tompkins Hose Company located at 13 South Avenue in Beacon
      • Wappinger Town Hall located on Middlebush Road.

      Dutchess Medical Reserve Corp (MRC):

      • Volunteers are being called in to assist at shelters.

      Dutchess County Health, Aging and Mental Hygiene:

      • Have been in touch with hospitals, nursing homes and home care agencies to ensure vulnerable residents are taken care of.

      Dutchess County Department of Public Works:

      • County roads generally under control.   DPW is working with Central Hudson to clear roads to get to downed power lines.

      Dry Ice & Water Availability:

      • New Hamburg Fire Station 2 located at 2886 Route 9D in Wappinger
      • Red Hook High School located at 65 West Market Street
