County and DCC Employees Recognized for Achievement in Management Development Leadership
Poughkeepsie... Dutchess County Executive William R. Steinhaus and Dutchess Community College President Dr. D. David Conklin celebrated the achievements of eleven Dutchess County Government and Dutchess Community College employees at the graduation event for the Management Development Leadership Program held today at Dutchess Community College.
County Executive Steinhaus said, “Dutchess County government is blessed with committed, passionate employees who are always looking to serve our residents better. Our Management Development Leadership Program helps us develop the future leaders who will be responsible for delivering the valuable programs and services offered by county government to our residents.”
The Management Development Leadership Program is a non-credit certificate program for supervisory and managerial staff looking to build a solid foundation and better understanding of what is needed to succeed as a supervisor. It is also an opportunity for experienced managers who want to refine their skills. The program was developed in collaboration between Dutchess County Department of Human Resources and Dutchess Community College Office of Community Services. Participants take five core workshops and selected elective workshops for a minimum total of 60 hours of training.
“This program is another way in which the College and the County can work together to enhance services and meet the needs of Dutchess County residents,” said Dutchess Community College President Dr. D. David Conklin.

Participants also had the opportunity to select from seven elective courses such as: “Building High Performance Work Teams,” “Conducting Effective Performance Appraisals,” “Positive Motivation and Constructive Discipline,” and more.
Dutchess County Legislator John Forman, who represents the City of Beacon, was at today’s event and said, “These courses offer valuable tools for our employees to utilize every day, particularly in these challenging times.”
