Poughkeepsie… The Dutchess County Department of Public Works has announced the county bridge on North Cross Road (CR 37) in the Town of Hyde Park, which spans over the Crum Elbow Creek, was reopened to traffic this morning.    Minor roadside work continues and a posted speed restriction of 20 mph in effect.     

Work on the bridge, originally built in 1969, began in August and traffic has been detoured around the project.   The bridge project included replacement of existing beams and bridge deck with new galvanized beams and steel decking will be put in place.  Work also included a new section of resurfaced roadway, bridge approach work, and new guiderail.

Motorists are urged to observe posted speed restrictions as final work is completed.
