Poughkeepsie, New York  Dutchess County Clerk Brad Kendall announces electronic recording (e-Recording) of land documents submitted through Corporation Service Company (CSC) are now accepted.  Document types allowed under e-Recording include assignments, deeds, discharges, and mortgages.  E-Recording provides customers including title companies, banks, and attorneys with a faster, more efficient, ‘paperless’ recording option.

Through the secure, web-based program Recorders in the Clerk’s Office now receive, review, record or reject, and return documents electronically.  Filers can track and view the status of their submitted documents as well as correct and resubmit any rejected documents. Recording fees and payments are also processed securely through the portal eliminating check-writing expenses and reducing payment errors.

Dutchess County Clerk Brad Kendall stated, “We are pleased to now offer the convenience of a secure, online recording option here in Dutchess County. E-recording provides efficiency, transparency and is cost-effective.  It’s a win-win for both the county and those who submit documents for recording to make a once complicated process - a simple one.”

Dutchess County Office of Central & Information Services Commissioner Glenn R. Marchi, Ph.D. stated, “Dutchess County ranks #1 mid-size county in the nation for digital transformation.  This is the most recent example in a long history of the County Clerk collaborating with OCIS and taking advantage of technological opportunities to enhance County services.  This new digital service will further increase the efficiency of the County Clerk’s office and improve the client experience for those who record land records.  The County Clerk continues to set an example for what can be accomplished through close cooperation, forward thinking, and process improvement.”
