Shared Service Initiative

County Executive, Marcus J. Molinaro, continues to focus on shared services and consolidation initiatives. His 2017 State of the County Address further expresses this earnest effort.

Under the direction of the County Executive, the Office of Central and Information Services (OCIS) continues to identify and expand shared services with municipalities, special districts, and other counties. These shared services provide an opportunity for local governments and qualifying agencies to work together to deliver public services to our residents more efficiently- while at the same time having a positive fiscal impact. The concept of shared services is a simple one: cost savings achieved through collaboration and economies of scale.

Watch what County Executive Molinaro has to say about Savings through Shared Services at a prior Budget outreach Town Hall meeting in Rhinebeck.

In October 2017, more than 80 local, county and state officials participated in workshops and panel discussions about potential shared services or consolidation opportunities. Read more about the Summit and the Municipal Innovation Grant Program
