Meet the Comptroller

Robin Lois was elected to serve as Dutchess County Comptroller beginning in January 2018.  As an accountant with over 30 years experience in all genres of accounting Ms. Lois is excited to use her skills to serve Dutchess County residents.

Prior to being elected Ms. Lois has been a small business owner and controller of two local companies.  Here she performed all accounting functions from daily processing, payroll, POS set up and integration, capital project oversight, financing, and financial reporting.

Robin began her accounting career as a bookkeeper at the age of 19 for a CPA firm in her home town area.  She worked her way up during that decade to a Senior Accountant by the time she ended her time in Public Accounting.  Her clients varied in industries and sizes which gave her a broad range of experience in business and financial reporting.

Robin spent another decade working in the corporate world for two Fortune 100 companies.  She worked as a Location Cost Accountant for Pepsi Bottling Group overseeing the budget and spending for the mid-west sector of the company.  She also spent many years working on Pepsi’s financial systems as a Project manager being a liaison for Finance with IT and the end users

After Pepsi Robin worked in New York City as a Project Implementation Manager for a startup accounting outsourcing firm, Virtual Growth.  Here she worked as a liaison with the sales force, the customer, and the accounting staff to get new clients up running on the accounting software.

Robin also worked as the Director of Accounting Policies and Procedures for MasterCard International in Purchase, NY.  Here Robin was responsible for writing and maintaining the printed and electronic library of financial policies that the company adheres to for their daily processing and financial reporting.

Robin left the corporate world and moved to Dutchess County with her husband to start their family in 2002.  Robin lives in Lagrange with her husband Dale and their two teenage children.
