Notice of Miscellaneous Recording Requirements
Effective 1/1/2025, the following requirements apply to any record submitted for recording in the Miscellaneous Recording Index of Dutchess County:
Prohibitions
- Any document that contains birth, death or marriage certificates or facsimiles thereof issued by a governmental or religious entity. Any references to birth, death, or marriage certificates requires redaction
- Any documents that relate to citizenship or naturalization status
- Any document attesting to or conferring copyright status
- Any document that contains a qualified signature (i.e., sui generis, all rights reserved, with prejudice, without prejudice, etc.)
- Any document purporting to establish or create a fine or fee schedule not otherwise authorized by law
- Any document that does not have at least one party that resides in or has a beneficial interest in real property in Dutchess County
