Poughkeepsie, NY… Dutchess Deed Watch, a service of the Dutchess County Clerk’s Office, is now available for residents concerned about property theft through fraudulent recordings.
Developed by Dutchess County’s Office of Central and Information Services (OCIS), Dutchess Deed Watch allows residents to register for property alerts for up to four names. Once signed up, a registered user will receive an email notification if a deed or mortgage is recorded affecting residential property held by the subscriber.
Should you receive a notification and have not recently recorded a document, you should seek legal advice about how to proceed.
