Poughkeepsie … Boots by the Bandshell is back Saturday, October 14th with even more FREE family friendly fun this year, including covered line dancing, live music, and fireworks. The third annual event, hosted by Dutchess County Parks, The Wolf and Wakin' Up with CJ and Jess Show and Townsquare Media Group, will be held near the bandshell pavilion at Bowdoin Park, located at 85 Sheafe Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie. This year’s event will feature a larger, covered dance floor for line dancing with CJ McIntyre and Frank Alexander, country music by Thunder Ridge Band, free family activities, food trucks, and more.

County Executive William F.X. O’Neil said, “Fall in the Hudson Valley means great views and cool nights and what better way to enjoy both than with live music, dancing, family fun and delicious local food right next to the river at our own Bowdoin Park. Boots by the Bandshell is a fun, free way for families to spend time together and we encourage everyone to join us and spend the day dancing at the park. We are grateful to Townsquare Media Group for their ongoing support of this popular event.”

This year, Boots by the Bandshell will include line dancing at 3:30pm, followed by Thunder Ridge Band’s performance at 5pm and fireworks at 7:45pm. The event will also feature a fall-themed scavenger hunt and a special family game area, a bonfire with s’mores, and food trucks. Picnics, camp chairs, and coolers are encouraged, but glass containers, alcohol, and smoking or vaping products are prohibited.

This event will be held rain or shine. Updates will be posted on the Parks division website, and the Dutchess County Parks and Dutchess County Government social media pages. For more information call Dutchess County Parks at (845) 298-4600.
