Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro announced today Dutchess County Government has been named a recipient of the 31st annual CIO 100 Awards for ParcelAccess, Dutchess County’s web-based property information database application. International Data Group’s (IDG) CIO, a global content and community resource for the information technology (IT) industry, hosts the awards to recognize organizations around the world that exemplify operational and strategic excellence in IT.
Dutchess County Executive Molinaro said, “Dutchess County strives to offer innovative ways to make retrieving information easier and more efficient. We are grateful for this recognition of the dedicated work of our County’s Office of Central and Information Services (OCIS) and their commitment to providing accessible tools to our residents and visitors.”
ParcelAccess was the first-ever custom designed application of its kind in Dutchess County providing digital geographic information system (GIS) map data to the public. Providing access to more than 110,000 parcels of land, ParcelAccess has become the universal tool for obtaining information such as property photos, well reports, maps, lot dimensions, aerial photos, assessment information, and site improvements. Information is available through a user-friendly, web-based interface. ParcelAccess receives more than 50 million searches per year from visitors in 50 states and 114 countries and has an estimated $14 million annual cost savings shared among the County, businesses, municipalities, and the public. This award recognizes the hard work that has gone into this successful project since its inception. Recipients of this year's CIO 100 Award were selected by CIO editors after a team of external judges evaluated the more than 400 applications that were submitted. Other 2018 CIO 100 Award honorees include Capital One, General Motors, IBM Corporation, Lenovo, Owens Corning, United Airlines, and Verizon.
