“Our DPW Engineering team has been actively overseeing several bridge replacement and repair projects this year, working to improve travel and safety for motorists throughout Dutchess County. We thank our residents and commuters for your patience over the last several months as crews worked to complete this bridge project which serves as a key connector to the New Hamburg train station,” said Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro.

Bridge repair work began in the spring and involved repairs to the bridge deck and portions of steel elements including the installation of new sections of steel, bearings, bridge deck and rail, and minor repairs to the bridge abutments. Existing shoulders on the bridge were expanded to create 4-foot shoulders.

New Hamburg Road averages approximately 5,800 vehicles per day.
