Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced work on Bridge M-7 on Academy Hill Road (CR 51) over the Roeliff Jansen Kill in the Town of Milan is complete and the road has reopened to traffic, on schedule and within budget. The Academy Hill Road bridge replacement project is one of several county road and bridge projects completed or underway this season. The replacement of Culvert PV-14 on Sherow Road (CR 73) in the Town of Pleasant Valley and Bridge C-19 on Hollow Road (CR 14) in the Town of Clinton are expected to be complete this month.
Bridge M-7 project work began in the summer and involved the replacement of the existing bridge and abutments and the widening of the bridge structure to include 4-foot shoulders. Bridge M-7 averages approximately 125 vehicles per day.
