Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced work is expected to begin on or about April 11th to install roadside drainage, stone scour protection, final paving and striping, and topsoil and seeding for the Bridge E-9 project on Palen Road (CR 31) in the Town of East Fishkill. While the project is underway, one-lane of the bridge will remain open at all times through the use of a controlled traffic signal. During non-work hours, from approximately 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., the controlled traffic signal will be turned off and the road will be open to two-way traffic. Work is anticipated to last approximately three weeks.

In 2015, rehabilitation work was completed to replace deteriorating beams on the bridge. As part of the repair project, the bridge was raised slightly and expanded to create 3-foot shoulders.
