Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced work is expected to begin on or about July 23rd, weather permitting, to repair a culvert on Turkey Hill Road (CR 56) in the Town of Milan. Culvert M-9, located approximately 700 feet east of the intersection of Becker Hill Road, allows a tributary of the Lakes Kill to pass under Turkey Hill Road, and has found to be structurally deficient.

Turkey Hill Road will be closed in the vicinity of the culvert while work is underway. Detour signage will be installed in advance to alert motorists of the pending closure and to provide a safe detour around the work site. Repair work is anticipated to last approximately five weeks.

Turkey Hill Road averages approximately 500 vehicles per day.
