Poughkeepsie…As part of the rehabilitation work on Bridge E-9 on Palen Road (CR 31) in the Town of East Fishkill, the Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced Palen Road will temporarily be closed on both Thursday, December 3rd and Friday, December 4th from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., for placement of concrete between the recently constructed bridge decks. The road closure is dependent on weather and work conditions over the next several days. Upon the reopening of Palen Road, Bridge E-9 will be open to one-lane of traffic through the use of a controlled traffic signal.

The Bridge E-9 repair project was originally slated to be completed in two stages, with the second stage concluding in spring 2016; however, it’s anticipated Bridge E-9 will fully reopen by the end of December due to an accelerated work schedule and several temporary road closures, with final paving and restriping of the affected bridge work area to be completed in the spring.
