Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Department of Public Works has announced County Bridge E-9 on Palen Road (CR 31) in the Town of East Fishkill has been reopened to traffic, nearly 3 weeks ahead of schedule.
Work on the bridge to replace deteriorated guiderail began in late April, with traffic detoured around Palen Road using NYS Route 376 and 52. The aging railing system on the bridge has been replaced with concrete barrier to provide for a safer structure.
The weight limit of bridge E9 is restricted to 13 tons. Palen Road averages approximately 9,000 cars per day.
