“While I am sorry I could not personally attend the Legislature’s Reorganization meeting this evening, I commend the County Legislature for its re-election of Rob Rolison to serve as Chairman.  Not only is Rob a capable and dedicated public servant, he understands the fiscal and economic challenges we face and those facing every family, farmer and business in Dutchess County.  He is a skillful negotiator, aggressive advocate and decent man.  Working with him and legislative leaders Borchert, Jeter-Jackson, Flesland and MacAvery, we have improved the way our government functions and set in motion a new standard for holding us all accountable and responsible to the residents of this county.  I am proud of the partnership we have with the county legislature as a whole; we welcome their good ideas, collaboration, and scrutiny- collectively and individually and we commend them for their service.  In 2013, we begin the transformation of county government and work to imagine where we take our community in the months and years ahead – and Chairman Rob Rolison and the members of the County Legislature are helping us lead the way.”

Note: County Executive Molinaro is in Albany, New York today and tomorrow meeting with members of Dutchess County’s delegation and legislative leaders as well as attending the State of the State Address.
