Poughkeepsie… The Dutchess County Department of Mental Hygiene has announced a public forum on service needs for persons with developmental disabilities and their families.  It will be held on Tuesday, March 12th from 4-6 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Mental Health Center located at 230 North Road in Poughkeepsie.  This event is open to all Dutchess County residents and is being sponsored by the Developmental Disabilities Subcommittee of the Dutchess County Mental Hygiene Board.

According to Dutchess County Commissioner of Mental Hygiene, Dr. Kenneth M. Glatt, “The input from those who attend the forum will assist the Department in the formulation of the 2014 Local Services Plan.  We invite consumers, family members, service providers and all interested residents to share their concerns, suggestions and experiences to determine what services can assist people with developmental disabilities live successfully in our community.”

Moderating the session will be Eunice Senator, LCSW, the Department’s Developmental Disabilities Coordinator.  Ms. Senator also serves at the Staff Liaison to the Subcommittee.  Membership on the Subcommittee is open to residents of Dutchess County, subject to appointment by the Mental Hygiene Board with the approval of the Commissioner.  For further information, please call 486-3725.
