Poughkeepsie… The Dutchess County Department of Planning and Development and the City of Poughkeepsie Office of Social Development have released the draft 2013-2017 Dutchess County and City of Poughkeepsie Consolidated Plan for public comment. The draft Consolidated Plan outlines needs and priorities for the allocation of funds for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Programs over the next five years. The County has also released its draft 2013 Action Plan which outlines the specific activities the County will undertake in 2013 to address the Plan priorities and goals.

Dutchess County Commissioner of Planning and Development Kealy Salomon said, “The priorities and goals in the Consolidated Plan will direct the allocation of over $12 million dollars in federal CDBG, HOME and HOPWA funds that the County and City expect to receive over the next 5 years. We have already received valuable public input about emerging needs as well as gaps in services in our community, but we are seeking additional feedback at these upcoming public hearings.”

The County and City will hold the following public hearings to receive comments on the draft Plan*:
