Poughkeepsie… Dutchess County Parks Division kicks off the summer park season with the opening of the new Water Spray feature at Bowdoin Park. The water spray feature officially opens on Saturday, May 25th at 11am and will be open daily from 11am to 6pm through Labor Day.

“We are thrilled to open this great new feature at Bowdoin Park just in time for summer fun for the whole family,” said Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro. “Our County parks are an important component to the quality of life we enjoy here in Dutchess and we are pleased to be able to continue to enhance and improve them for the enjoyment of our residents and visitors.”

Bowdoin Park’s water spray feature has long been one of Bowdoin Park’s most popular summer features, offering a fun way to keep cool during the hot summer months. The new water spray area replaces the former “water spray turtles” and features five unique water spray apparatus including two water cannons that can direct streams of water from rotating units; three large water spray red globes; a large circle spray that creates a gentle shower effect; two cascading L-shaped towers that rain down water and two tall cattails which will emit a soft spray mist. The water spray pad features are touch button activated, with automatic shut off features to save water and energy.

Bowdoin Park is located at 85 Sheafe Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
