Dutchess County Airport Open House Saturday June 15th

Poughkeepsie… The Dutchess County Airport will host an “Open House” event on Saturday, June 15th from 10am to 6pm.   The event is open to the public and is free of charge.  The event will feature aircraft displays, demonstrations, educational seminars, and activities for kids as well as a car show.

This is a fun event for the whole family with lots to see and do, providing an opportunity to learn more about the Dutchess County Airport. Some of the displays and information exhibits include:

  • Vintage aircrafts from the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome
  • Helicopters from Dutchess County Airport tenant AAG and New York State Police
  • Civil Air Patrol
  • Airport Fire Rescue Vehicle
  • Antique Fire Trucks from local fire companies

Families will enjoy K-9 demonstrations from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, building craft workshops from Home Depot and bouncy house inflatables. New Hackensack Fire Department will have its Fire Prevention Safety House and will be selling food.   Helicopter rides available (for a fee) by United Aviation Academy.

The Dutchess County Airport contributes nearly $45 million annually to the local economy, providing more than 230 jobs and generating $13 million in annual payroll. Each year, 73,000 aircrafts land or depart from the Dutchess County Airport.
