Heavy Rain Lead to County Road Closures
Motorists urged to use caution with more rain expected later in the day - Updated Closures 2:00pm

Poughkeepsie… The morning’s heavy rains have resulted in some road closures in limited areas according to Dutchess County Emergency Response Coordinator Dana Smith. A flood advisory has been extended until 3:30pm today, with the area expected to get a second band of rain this afternoon which may lead to more flooding. Motorists are urged to use caution on roadways and are reminded not to drive through flood areas.

The following roads were reported closed as of 2:00pm:

Berkshire Road in the Town of Dover between Dog Tail Corners and Old Branch Road due to downed trees & wires.

  • Altamont Road in the Town of Washington between Route 343 and Edgewood Lane due to flooding.
  • Old State Route 22 in the Town of Dover at Reagan Mill Road due to flooding
  • New Hackensack Road in the Town of Wappinger between Daisy Lane and Jackson Road due to flooding
  • 123 Dorn Road in the Town of Beekman between Dove Court and Duncan Road due to flooding
  • Route 376 in the Town of Wappinger between Airport Drive and Griffith Way due to flooding
  • Emans Road in the Town LaGrange between Route 82 and Noxon Road due to flooding
