Poughkeepsie… The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced the Dutchess Rail Trail parking lot at Old Manchester Road in the Town of LaGrange (behind Page Home Center) will be closed for several weeks starting on Wednesday, September 4th, 2013.     There will be no parking or public trail access from this location as work will be underway to reconfigure and pave the parking lot.     Crews will be also working on the trail to connect the existing trail section with the newly installed bridge over Old Manchester Road.    Work is expected to be completed by September 20th.

Trail users will need to use alternative trail access points and parking including nearby access at Gold’s Gym on Titusville Road.  A complete list of current Dutchess Rail Trail parking locations is available on the County’s website.

The parking lot project and trail access work are part of the work being done on Stage 4 of the Dutchess Rail Trail.   Stage 4, as well as the connection to the Walkway Over the Hudson, is currently underway and is expected to be complete by late fall.
